Copper based filler metal can be divided into four categories: high copper alloy, copper zinc alloy, copper phosphorus alloy and special copper alloy.
Copper zinc alloy filler metal is mainly used for gas flame brazing, high frequency brazing, salt bath immersion brazing, brazing copper, copper alloy, nickel, steel, cast iron, hard alloy, etc.
Cu-P alloy filler metal is based on Cu-P binary alloy and has good fluidity. It is mainly used for brazing copper and copper alloy.Because of high phosphorus content, it can not be used for brazing steel, nickel and its alloy. The wett bility of brazing filler metal will be greatly improved by adding silver into copper phosphorus alloy.
